P-ADDIE does not replace ADDIE. It reorients it. The difference is not in the phases — it is in the questions those phases are designed to answer.

A · Analysis
Diagnose before you design
Analysis is not a checkbox. It is a diagnosis: what is currently happening, what should be happening, why the gap exists, and whether training can actually close it.
What should people be doing on the job that they are not doing now?
The current performance, described as behaviour rather than attitude.
Same specificity. This becomes the raw material for your objectives.
The evidence that sent someone to you — not an opinion.
Tick every cause that is actually present. Only the first is a training problem.
Every non-training cause you ticked needs an owner here, or the training will fail anyway.
